Hi all

Yes, only had byDiesel for 7 months, as I was down in Bournemouth this week, I popped into Westover Sports Cars, and walked out again after signing some paperwork for an Abarth 500! How did that happen. Still can't seem to believe I'm going to be collecting it on the 27th!:confused:

Black, with Red side stripes, red check roof, split seats in red leather, 17" 10 spokes, ali gear knob, I think theres more, but will need to dig out the spec!

Anyone else had this problem?

can't say I've had this 'problem', but.. ...congrats! Sounds like a fairly epic car! I love the Abarths in black :)

Not with an Abarth but I did have my 1.2 Pop for only 6 months when I traded it in for my 500C, so similiar I guess :D

Will have this a bit longer I think, although the roof colour might make me trade in sooner than I thought - ivory roof + soot + general dirt = pain in the a**e!

I guess mine was an impulse buy too, after driving 340 miles to test drive a very disappointing 200 BHP Alfa Brera, i came home, saw the A500 for sale phoned the garage and said "I want it now!" and a few days later it arrived on my driveway, i never even left the house, i never even saw the car or drove it!

Car buying is made too easy these days, can cost anyone a small fortune!

I was on my way to Exeter, to buy an Alfa Brera 2.4 diesel & thought I'd just pop down to Plymouth to have a quick look at a 500 Abarth & ended up buying the Abarth there & then. I certainly don't have any regrets either. :)

That's certainly a (approx) 16 K impulsion my wife would never let me have! :p
But if you can afford it, good on you mate, we only have one life. (y)
Same as Zoomorphism then but I'll have Ferrero Raffaellos instead.:yum: (Eating them in my 500 so it's not all that worse ;) )

On Sunday 12th July last year I was walking down Wigmore St with my girlfriend who owns a 500 Sport when we saw an Abarth in Fiat Marylebone. I went in next day and ordered a naked black SS. It was late and salesman suggested I wait and have a test drive,I told him I had loved two 500s in the seventies and an Abarth could only be better.6500mls later - no regrets. My previous car was a Porsche 911,prefare the Abarth much more fun.Girlfriend says I love it more than her - I keep my gob shut! :)

That's weird! Exactly the same, Brera 2.4, bored the hell out of me! Abarth is fun fun fun! (y)

I know !! I almost bought the Brera on looks alone, but the Abarth is
much more fun. I'm still considering an Alfa though, as my next purchase.
I quite like the Mito 170 Cloverleaf, apart from the megga cheap looking
stickers !! (y)

were you on finance with the by diesel?

im looking at abarths but salesman basically said that so soon in (9 months) to my finance deal i could be looking at negative equity-

how easy was this for you if so?

Yes, They sorted all this out, I did have a bit of negative equity due to the car not being year old. But they gave me a good price for the car and the negative was less than £1000 (they just added it to the new finance! it made little difference over 3 years...). If you can wait 18 months into your finance, so long as your deal is over 3 years, you should have little problem. I also found that with Fiat Finance, you can make extra payments if you have the cash. Obviously this means your paying for the car quicker. Or you could save that extra cash. I would say you really want at least £1000-2000 in the bank when you pop to get your Abarth, as you will have some negative equity, they will also want to get you to place a minimum deposit on the new car. Don't be fobbed off by large down payment if your happy to pay a larger monthly payment. Also they will try and sell you extras, such as Superguard and GAP insurance. And you'll bound to want extras on the car!

I hope that helps. I have had 11 cars from new in 7 years, so been though this game a few times. :yum:

I've have 4 smart for2, smart roaster, Cooper S, Cooper One, A-Class, Swift Sport, Beetle Convertible, and the 500 ByDiesel..

So jealous of your car Charlie. Punk grey with red leather, wow!

Oh - back to the OP subject, congrats - sounds stunning, but then so did the By Diesel!:)

Why thanks, I have to say that I really do love the colour combination of ours, every time I get in the car I just have the biggest grin on my face, and this is over 2 years into ownership now! It's a shame they discontinued the colour, although some of the new greys, (despite being less unusual), are really nice too. :)

Oh, and sorry for being a tad off topic :-/
