Hi all I have a Peugeot boxer 2014 , it just cut out while sitting in traffic had it on reader and says immobiliser faulty , can anyone please tell us this in the fuzebox (bcm) or the ecu , bit lost with this, I have had a new key cut thinking it was the key, but still the same ignition turns on but when turning the ignition to start I get nothing, it has started a couple of times but then cuts out after a couple of seconds, hoping someone on here can help. Cheers. Steve

Seems strange to cut out when in use unless it has "stop start" as immobiliser's in general should not stop a running vehicle for obvious safety reasons.
I even had a Iveco van with a worn ignition lock that the key fell out whilst driving along and that didn't cut out.
Was the code read a full comprehensive one or just a cheap tool?
What were all the error codes ?

From 2006 onwards (X250 and later) the BCM functions as the code receiver, and talks to the ECU via canbus. As mentioned by @bugsymike it is unusual for the system to cause the engine to cut out. Sounds potentially dangerous to me. In the current thread "warning light" mention is made that the light may illuminate, when the vehicle is in motion due to "self checks", with low battery voltage quoted as a possible cause of such check. Stopping the engine with vehicle in motion is not covered.

I have attached a descriptive printout previously recovered from the forum. You may wish to browse it to further your understanding of the system. The document includes at least one minor error.

Hi, 🙂

Cutting out seems to point to a poor connection somewhere, 🤔

Running a second earth cable is worthwhile 😉

Only time I had similar.. It was a relay only switching when it felt like it..
New relay was a permanent cure 👍

So.. What error codes are you seeing?

I have tried a second earth, but no different, I will get it read again on Monday and make a note of the codes , looks like I may have to get an auto electrician to have a look at it
