Technical i love my ducato motorhome but!!!

i have ducato 1.9TD 2001 motorhome the second gear grinds when i try to select it, meaning the sycromech is worn, i thought no problem i just buy a used gearbox and change it, but before i fitted the used gearbox i thought i better check it and yes ,(you've guessed) the new box also has second gear sycromech worn, :bang: now im pissed off with fiat, as i have two gearboxes both with the same fault and no identifying marking on either gearbox, making parts almost impossible to obtain, robin

Suggest you try axel augustin de. German company but brilliant postage service supply them with all details online or phone they speak English they will almost certainly have second gear synchro kit in stock. Or go to web site and check online. Hope that helps. It.

Never mind the gearbox I'l bet the 1.9 is like a snail going up hills and why the 2nd gear is worn out I'd be doing an engine swap out for a 2.8 whilst your at it.

Thanks jontee for info spoke with them today and I think they can help and davymac I quite like potting along in my camper ,I m not in hurry and love to see line of cars behide me trying to get passed with there glowing Red faces

i made further inquiries and it is approx 350 EUROS for complete 1st and 2nd gear assembly and they are in stock i noticed that their are two 1900cc engines 1905 and 1930 but i understand its the same gearbox. hope all gos well jt
