After a month of enjoying my blue & me media player with an 1GB memory stick, the thing doesn't work like it did for a month.
If i want to browse through the maps or select an artist, the lovely lady says that there is no media found.
However, when i choose to play random, it works perfectly.

Does anyone know howto reset the system ?
Allready tried restoring default settings on the audio system, that didn't work.

Since it is basicly a windows based computer, i think there should be an option to reset it.

Tnx for the answers.

not really sure mate cos i don have it but i supose if you disconnect the battery for 5 minutes will work :)

My blue and me stopped to work altogether. the steering controls wouldn't work during playback of the usb stick and the lady didn't seem to want to speak to me when i pushed her button. i tried to look for the fuse but couldnt find the fuses which are suppose to be on the dashboard according to the manual. so i unplugged the battery and she came back to life.

i still have a question. is there any way that i can update blue and me from the usb stick? why doesn't blue and me have a dedicated website? i'm asking cos gprs is quite expensive here in malta and when i tried it the lady said.. "GPRS error" in that sweet voice.

thanks

Mitch

Yes you will more than likley need the code so have it handy. IMO for best results i'd leave it unplugged for 30mins or so that will be long enough for everything on the car to reset.

What is it you want the instructions for?.

i just unplugged it for a minute or so. no codes were needed, although you have to go throught the pairing process again

this appears to be turning into a common problem, the only way I've managed to get around this so far is to reformat my memory stick.
unplugging it and plugging it back in makes no difference.
I think i might have to speak to Fiat about this. !

perhaps you need more RAM ;)

That's inevitable with Microsoft unfortunatly. You watch there will be a mass recall before long for a Ram upgrade and a defrag

has anyone had an official answer from Fiat on this, I just got fobbed off with trying another memory stick.
(When I get answers like that, I lose all confidence in people, because I've already tried it). :bang:

I took mine into the dealer to fix along with a few other problems.
That was a week past Saturday and its been fine since.

Firstly, the recommended memory sticks are just the ones that Fiat have tested.
Secondly no im not. however I have tested my memory stick on another car and plugged it into various PC's / Macs and it works no problem. (remember its USB), if its gonna fail on one device then surely it would fail on another.
Therefore indicating that it is working fine.

So what is the problem with the blue & me system and what is the fix ?

Cheers

Best thing to do which always works (mine periodically says No Media Found, esp on cold mornings) is to unplug the stick and plug in another with different music on, so forcing a flush and reload of the file structure.

After you plug the alternate stick in, press the voice button and say "Folders" you shoud get a "Building system library, please wait..." message.

When complete, just reinert your other stick and do it again.
Works every time. Buy a crappy 128M stick from a pound shop and just pust a few tracks on it. Keep it in the car - not ideal but at least it sorts it!

PS: I've tried a whole load of memory sticks and all have worked fine (including the one I use all the time which is a 4Gig) so I don't think there's much between them...
