General how to turn off passenger airbag?

just got a active 65 grande punto 3dr and was wondering how thw airbag can be disarmed to use a childseat in the front?

Controls beside the steering wheel, menu, options, passenger bag

That will let you disable it

Bear in mind though that the option will only appear in the menu if the car is stationary.
As soon as the wheels are turning, that's one of the options that gets locked out.

the method is on page 20-21 ish of the owners handbook

Passenger front and side airbag
activation/deactivation (BAG P)
(for versions/markets, where provided)

This function is used to activate/deactivate
the front passenger’s air bag.
Proceed as follows:

❒ press MENU ESC and, after the message
BAG P OFF (to deactivate) or
BAG P On (to activate) is displayed by
pressing buttons + or –, press MENU
ESC again;

❒ the confirmation request message will
be displayed;

❒ press + or – to select YES (confirming
activation/deactivation) or no (to abort);

❒ briefly press MENU ESC to confirm
setting and go back to the menu screen
or hold the button down to go back to
the standard screen without saving


(the amber air bag light then comes on to show its disarmed)

Went To Fiat Maidstone and they would not help me at all so I will never use this garage again. I found the man in sales and the service staff to be very rude.

I had a local garage reset the light for me and had to pay.

So far I am not a happy fiat owner.

Resetting the light after a fault isn't the same thing as disabling the airbag for a child seat though. Were you asking the dealer to do it for free?
