I'm about to lodge a complaint about my dealer to Fiat. Does anyone have any useful contact details (preferably email address)?

if its about your dualogic dont bother complaining, hundreds of selespeed victims have tried in the past, none have managed to do anything about it, just sell the car and buy one with a proper gearbox.

one particularly unhappy selespeed owner in australia is currently setting up a charity (wtf?) with its own website which i expect will include unhappy dualogic owners from down under too. he's planning to get enough people involved to be able to do something about it, what i dont know, but if you feel the need to vent your anger i'm sure you'll find sympathetic ears on the forum he's setting up.

he's called pmptrading on alfaowner.com
he's upset because his selespeed has cost him A$6386 in the last year.

This time (!) its not about the actual product, but the service I've been receiving from one of the dealers. In a nutshell I've had my car in three times to have the wheels aligned and three times they've failed me (https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto-technical/120485-luvduvs-first-service.html)

And since I'm in Oz I'm not so sure if those UK-based Fiat people would even care. Or maybe I should complain to Fiat Oz (again)? But then again they're just freaking useless

Fire it to Italy and maybe the Press too mate... get their heads scratching... if they care.

ffs just get the tracking done at a local garage, its a very easy job (literally 1 nut on each side).

fiat dealers are there to sell cars, dont expect them to be able to get parts, and definately dont expect them to be able to do anything on the cars, they're just sales centres.

warranty or not, its better to go to a local private garage, the people there know what they are doing. if its a majorly expensive job then let the dealer try it before going independant, but for everything else just go independant and save yourself the hassle. and remember for future purchases just how pointless a dealer warranty is.

Fair point, but given most independent garages here have never seen a Fiat before, if they screw something up wouldn't that void the warranty?

My mum :D, rang head office of fiat uk in london to sort out the problems with my car when i got it. As i made about 4 trips to the dealer in 3 weeks (nearly 30 miles away), and they were unable to diagnose the fault. I spent about £25-30 in petrol money, and everytime i had to get a courtesy car - on my own insurance and 15 quid a pop. Some of the staff were also very unhelpful and uncoperative. This might have been due to the fact i was only 18 at the time.

They then rang advised me to go to a different garage, and so i did. They diagnosed the fault and fixed it. I had 2 problems with my car, the first was a gear linkage which had snapped, and the second was the body computer was faulty and need replacing.

The garage i went to as advised repaired the linkage (all under warranty), and it only took 1 visit for it to get done - whilst i waited.

A few hours after i got home, guess who rings up, the other dealer, sir, we have your body computer in now ready to fit, so i had to take my car all the way to wakefield to get that fitted. They apologised, and have given me a £100 fiat voucher to spend - which i will put towards my service

do you really think it matters what brand of car they are working on? your car's track rods work the same as any other.

If you really want to get it done properly, find a competent friendly tyre place with laser tracking.

For years I have just had the front adjusted traditionally then I was offered laser tracking and lucky enough to be shown it done properly by an enthusiastic fitter.

He confided that often, traditionally, the front was adjusted to the correct toe-in but not always accurately including the rear as a reference so the toe-in read correctly but wasn't in the centre!

Few points
1)Selespeed is not same as dual logic
2)Is there no independant auto transmission specialists in Aus?
3)Believe it or not dual logic (and selespeed) systems are quite simple but for some reason people 'shy' away from them.
4)Still say you have a clutch or callibration problem.

1)Selespeed is not same as dual logic
what's the difference?

i've spoken to dozens of selespeed owners who had the pump & actuator changed and the system recalibrated on examiner, often several times, and it rarely solves the problem. thats usually when they sell. check out alfaowner.com, most of the threads in the 147/156/159 section relate to selespeed failure, dealers cant fix it so there must be a problem.

How come the dealer keeps referring to it as Selespeed?

There's probably a few, but have no idea where they're hiding.

Then in theory it should be easily fixed?
4)Still say you have a clutch or callibration problem.
Can you come over to Oz and take a look at my car please?

While waiting to pick up the car yesterday I overheard the service rep talking to the customer in front of me, something about the actuator. Then the customer collected her car, and guess what it was? ;)
