Evening all, been a long term lurker and finally just bought a 2010 1.3 multijet 4x4. Bit of a banger but just what I wanted.

Couple of questions if you don't mind, been doing some long mileage trips with no issues but yesterday when reversing the hill hold feature not available warning came up. Wasn't overly worried but today the ESP, ABS and ELD not available came up as well.

I've searched around and it seems a fairly common issue. I was going to replace the battery but noticed a few people saying a break sensor in the passenger foot well seems a better bet first?

Does anyone have any more info/suggestions in solving this issue?

Also I have a decent quality Bluetooth obd 2 dongle, anybody recommend a decent app for Android to use so I can interrogate the diagnostics?

Many thanks all.

Hi Koalar, many thanks for your reply yesterday.

I had a look today for the switch above the brake pedal but I'm damned if I could see it. I can see the clutch one but no switch on the brake arrangement?

I guess I'm being a bit thick but I did notice a mechanical link bar going from the brake pedal across to the left hand side of the car. Could the switch be somewhere else in the car or do I need to look much harder?

Cheers

Had the same problem with my Panda cross, took a while to work it out and the diagnostics weren't much help.

Turned out it was the reverse light switch on the gearbox.

The accelerometer got confused when going backwards, as the abs didn't know the car was in reverse.

Check the reversing lights come on and stay on.

Thanks for this, I think you are onto something with this!

It cleared yesterday when I put her in reverse and reversed about 30ft. It's been clear since. I seem to remember it came on when I put it in reverse to start with!

I checked the brake switch but it was fine, no adjustment needed so I think you nailed it.

Cheers
