Technical Help! Air con

On my July 2006 Scudo Air con last year worked like a dream after re gassing.
This year after not responding I had it re gassed again...garage responded that there is no system operation.
Now my gut feeling is it should work, having turned it on periodically during the winter to keep it ticking over as was recommended to me.
It seems coincidental after removing the dashboard and heater panel to replace bulbs...my air bag light has been on ever since.
Any ideas anyone before I go to garage recommendation to replace compressor/receiver drier?

I might also add that when I press the AC button it illuminates and I can hear a relay click under the steering column. Garage tells me the "Clutch" engages as well on the compressor at the drive belt end. I cannot confirm yet if this happens, I am a bit past crawling under, but have my doubts since no sound can be heard from above when the switch is turned on and off...does it make an audible "Clunk"??? or is there anything visible?? I desperately trying to eliminate all before the garages "Change the bits till it works" is given a green light, it might be a very expensive green light...or I shall just have to sweat it out all summer! ANY suggestions Guys would be gratefully received :shrug::worship::bang:
