Technical Heavy steering

Hi folk, I have Electric power steering in my 2017 panda pop, I've noticed that through steering is starting to get heavy when I drive, and the city mode is not making the steering lighter. What Could the problem be.

Tirepressure Ok?

Pressures are fine, when I press the city mode steering doesn't get lighter, thinking it's a fuse problem.

I think that would result in a red warninglight on your dashboard.

Battery!
If the battery is in poor health (or the alternator isn't charging it), the amount of assistance offered by the power steering is reduced. Is it on the original battery (from 2017) -- if so, that's not bad going. What mileage (total, and typical weekly use)?

It's a new battery from halfords, mileage is 30.000, weekly use to and from work. I will get the guys in work to plug a battery checker onto the battery and see what I comes up with.

I would also check the earth - a common cause. Clean the battery negative post and main earth cable connections.

Run a secondary earth like a jump lead from battery negative to engine block and see if that helps.
