you know where the 3 heater knobs are i have seen on the internet that some bravo's have like a little computer for the heaters etc i just wanted to know if i get that for mine will it work?

Yeah won't work.

The standard 3 knob version works on a serious of tension wires that are connected to the vents etc. When you turn a knob the wires tensions are altered accordingly (Like the cables you get on a cycles brake system) and the appropriate settings within the system are selected such as air flow direction.

On the climate control it's all done electronically. The climate control is designed to be automatic. It uses various sensors and calculations to maintain a set temperature and climatic condition within the car. It's designed to direct airflow to specific areas of the car or to change output air temperatures from the vents when different factors change the cars climate such as sunlight or getting into a warm car wet from the rain etc in order to maintain the original conditions set by the user. It's the reason why it's such an expensive add on as it is a complicated but good piece of equipment to have in a car.

The best way I had it described to me was the standard set-up was analogue and the climate set-up digital.

Not to mention all the sensors etc you would need to buy and install also to get the climate control working. You'd be cheaper selling up and buying a climate control equiped car.

It's also not possible as the climate control panel is a node on the CAN line and would always cause a flashing mileage problem - power delay won't work as it's got a constant live feed, due to it's post ignition switch-off manipulation of air feed (it does this to help prevent the windows misting up).

I've had a Bravo with both - must admit I'm not missing it (new one has manual Air Con).

Yeah it does look good I'll admit, although the Bravo's Air Con panel isn't too bad either. Suppose SkyRoof and Climate would be a bit OTT :p.

Haha - Rich, that's what I got in mine - SkyDome and Climate Control - just for the way it looked - much better imho comparing to the knobs.

One question to u - how did u get Blue&Me Nav fitted on ur car? Was it hard/expensive? As it's off topic can u PM me about it?

Thanks!

Ideal! After having both I must admit I'm not too fussed.

Just got a few things to finalise over B&M Nav before I know which is the best way to go - will loet you know when!
