hey everyone,

i have put my pioneer headunit into my punto, and everything works well.

but ive got a problem,

the problem is that when i turn off the car and take the key out of the ignition, the headunit stays on

so i am wondering how can i make it so that whenever i take the key out of the ignition, the headunit will turn off

thank you all in advance.

Hello,

You've connected the radio to a permanent +12V. If you want to switch the radio off when you take the key out of the ignition, you have to connect it to an ignition +12V. In newer models there are usually both of them behind the radio. However I don't know how they've done it in the 1st gen Punto.

In the download section of the forum you can find wiring diagrams and descriptions taken from FIAT eLearn module, which is a workshop manual. I assume that kind of information should be there.

thank you! also do you know what colour wires?

I think that should be in the appropriate eLearn doc.

I've uploaded such a document for my x250 Ducato, which is a 13 year younger vehicle, so might not be the same. But you can use it as a reference.

It's also available in the download section of the forum, search with 'colour code' ;)
