Wow, a tenner, and only ten minutes? Clearly a quick job on a 500. It took a full 40 minutes and cost me 40 quid for my Caddy's brake fluid change. I sat there in the viewing area and watched them do it.
I mean seriously don't they just drain the fluid and put new one in and smash the brake pedal to test all's good?
I mean that's what they did on mine while I was watching them. Am I missing something?

Well I've never changed the brake fluid on my own vehicles before, always had a garage to do it. I believe it has to be done in a correct sequence. The cost of mine was made up, 10 quid for genuine GM fluid and 30 quid labour and the 40 minutes also included a road test of the vehicle. A little bit more to it than just draining, replacing and smashing the brake pedal to test!

Oh well that's what my guys did and it worked out fine the road test was replaced by smashing the pedal and making sure the level was at max. I guess a bit less 'health and safety' in my garage. Still though 30 pounds labor is shocking for something so basic.

With respect ahmett, you need to pull yourself into the real world. 30 quid labour charge at an independent garage is not a shocking price. If the job is that basic, why didn't you do it yourself?

Most dealerships can charge over double that and I actually don't mind paying 30 quid for a professional to do the job. You stick with whomever smashes your brake pedal and I'll stick with mine! (y)

I didn't do it myself because I don't have that draining tool that those mechanics have!

No it isn't, £30 isn't bad, they've still overheads to pay.

What, a tube
