Technical Has your cambelt been changed?

I’ve recently discovered what may be obvious to some in the know but certainly wasn’t to me so I thought I would share this for others.

When your cambelt is changed the mechanic may well mark the top of the cover to show that it’s been done. See pictures.

Two different Fiat 500s, both marked, both have had cam belts changed already.

I've seen that as well, with mileage marked on the cover. I must admit, though, that I did not do it on my car (not the Fiat), only marked it in the paperwork I keep.

I changed mine this weekend, along with water pump,belt tensoiner, coolant,thermostat. my Panda is coming up to 100k so i thought i should.
