Nearly everything you buy that has a microprocessor in is made in China. What bearing does that have to do with it?

That's exactly my reservation. A.) Lack of Android B.) lack of RAM and processor.

Yes but for that kind of money i'd save up a bit more and get an alpine headunit or pioneer. The refinement, interface and usability will be fat better.
An iphone (or samsung phone if that's where you're coming from) is also made in china. But compare their build quality and finish with a chinese branded phone and you'll see a big difference.
A car head unit is something you interact with a lot while in the car. I'd rather pay slightly more and get a better unit.
For something like that from aliexpress, i'd not spend anything more than 150 max!

That's exactly my reservation. I'm currently torn between this or persevering with my plan of installing my 3G Nexus 7 in the car. The latter wouldn't be as clean, but it would be one hell of a lot more versatile. And (if all goes to plan), a lot cheaper.

This is actually the latest unit. The specs on this new one are better than the 600MHZ processor on the previous model. Pretty decent specs i must say for a headunit.
I think some people expect it to say Intel 4770k i7 as the processor, Thing is the unit only has to do specific tasks which the code is written for, unlike a pc which has to work with all different kind of programming.

That's the thing it isn't "specific" code its Running Windows CE with some rather dodgy looking custom code. And I'm painfully aware of it's limitations. Android would be a far superior option on these devices which is when the hardware in the unit becomes a problem. You want a in-car device to be fast responsive and smooth.
I wish Dynavin would do a Grande Punto unit.

Hi lads,my name is daniel and I have the upgraded version of this headunit,which is now a 6' screen , I've already posted it on the forum but in case you haven't seen it, ill repost over here too
So i bought it from aliexpress at a grand total of about 210, it has a tv function, (freeview box is 30 quid), sat nav built in (free), media player (USB plug in to your phone and music comes on the screen with artwork)
it has full bluetooth functionality which includes high quality streaming and phonebook with missed calls etc
there is an external mic included
its literally plug and play and also recognises your original steering wheel controls as it comes with a canbus adapter,
all in all its a really nice headunit and makes the interior look nice and updated, music sound quality has increased drastically
and oh, it also has a reverse camera function. luckily for us grande punto owners, there is a direct number plate light fit one available for 12 quid on aliepxress, very easy to fit
i have not had any problems with this headunit so far, very responsive and auto connects to my phone when i jump in
I have spoken to the seller and he claims he will be willing to negotiate on price for you guys seeing as I have introduced him to potential customers lol
