Technical Gearbox oil leak??

It looks like I have a leak from the rocker the gasket has obviously failed! On the right hand side too! The plot thickens!
For the rocker gasket you need to use a sealant. Gasket alone cannot seal it properly at the rounded edges and there will always be leaks. I had the same issue and after reading about it (people do recomand the use of sealant) and I did fixed it using Renzosil. I applied a layer of sealant on both sides, on rocker - placed the gasket - sealant again, not too much, carefully to not have extra sealant that would go inside when tightening the screws. I did the job, no oil leaking there, since.

I remember reading two dots of sealant on each side just before it dips down if I’m correct?

On any other car, I would say that your "sump" leak is probably the crankshaft oil seal.. but with the 500 1.2 gearbox, it's just as likely to be the gearbox input shaft seal.

Replacing either is a fair job and requires removal of the gearbox .. which in turn means replacing the clutch if yours looks worn, although luckily (!) the slave is external, so that's one less thing to precaution-change now. If the friction plate looks good and there's no wear on the pressure plate fingers then leave it in there.

But.. my old mechanic used to say, if it's still working alright, why are you replacing it now? Replace it when it's not working alright.

Your leak looks miniscule to be honest... and hardly seems worth the aggro. You could leave it for 12 months, I reckon .. and it still won't be any worse.

Well I’m monitoring it! I replaced the rocker seal as that was on its way …. But as for the gearbox it’s working fine the leak is still a weep if that so I’ll play it by ear
I’ve collected parts for now a valo clutch I got cheap oil seal and a new bottom mount….. see how I go!

There's not much value in changing the clutch until it starts slipping. You should use that time to be certain the oil leak is gone.

Gunk to clean it all, find the source, when it leaks again smell it for the type.

Then live with it until it gets too bad.

As an old Vauxhall owner, oil leaks do wonders for protecting the subframe
