Thats quite a bit of extra weight your dragging around, has it had any effect on MPG?

Sounds like my 5 door, constantly loaded.
Add a full tank of petrol to it. The car's lowered on Eibachs aswell, and driven 85.000 km (53.000 miles) and no signs of bush wear.

They're good for 55,000/65,000 miles anyway. Fiat recommend they be changed as part of your next service around that time. The bushes in our old Stilo(5 door) lasted almost twice that amount, 105,000 before I had to change them. Sports suspension and heavy loads will take its toll so have your wallet on standby.
well on the bright side, the ICE lowers the back to make the car "level" rather than its rear high natual stance....and yes the ICE drops the mpg....but not sure by how much, because ive pretty much always had it in....the only time when i noticed was when i only had two front seats (everything behind them was removed to insulate) it meerley sipped at fuel....
That explains why your car looks nose-high in your 'grimy to shiny' thread. If you fit 18" wheels without lowering, it's gonna look even worse...
lowering isnt an option, too many speed bumps on daily drive to work...to me it looks flat and level?....besides fitting 18's isnt going to change the overall wheel size, just the rim will get bigger, tyre will shrink...
Modest lowering should not cause you a problem with speed bumps. My Schumi's never grounded once.
Yes you're right about overall wheel size...but wait and see, you'll find the bigger wheeels will make the gap between wheel and wheelarch seem larger than ever.
the speed bumps in hackney are right bastards, there the little squares, and they've all got "pits" beside them so it extenuates the bump...my under-tray used to catch every now and again...untill it gave up the ghost. so a 30mm drop would put the car in the firing line of the bumps...and i don't think i want to sacrifice the comfort....but i guess only time will tell!

I know what you mean about these squares, we've got them aswell. But for the undertray, you just drill a hole in the rear end (center) and add some wire to it and through some ready holes in the gearbox, where the clutch separates by the flywheel area.
My Stilo smashed the asphalt very often on OEM setup - especially speed bumps. After the Eibach kit was mounted I have never faced the asphalt. When fully loaded, the car doesn't get as low on the Eibach as with the OEM setup. And guess what - the eldest kid stopped puking immediately after install.
He got carsick at every trip over 10 km before that. So I wouldn't worry about the 30 mm drop. Putting on 18" wheels might get your car look like an 80's rolleskate. alanandalan

Hi all i just got a quote from my local fiad dealer in norwich for £17.71 inc vat.for rhe 3 pronged bush tool. But as a sugestion, why not hire it out to other members, soon get ya money back
