17. they have an iron gurder between the back wheels mk1s are fully independent trailing arms on rear

18. the steering wheels seem to go all flaky after a wile lol

20. they have no ****ing spare fuses

21. they still using tapper roller rear bearings which are unreliable and fail if not adjusted on service witch they rarely are
 
8. a mk1 1.2 8v can easily destroy a 1.3i ka on acceleration intact i'm sure a 1.1 55 could also i know it can in a seicento sporting 1.1

LOL tbf it was out like my GFs car he had a knackered idle control valve, its a common fault and they rev themselves up happily...nowt you can do about it

LOL did beating a heavily laden less powerful car amuse me?..tbf it always amuses me chavs who decide show off to their mates in the car not realising that the weight of four big lads and their sovereigns has reduced their 1.2 or 1.3s acceleration to milk float levels.
 
Kas, and Fiestas until 02, handle superbly, right until you lift off to avoid an old woman or a badger or something, and then they swap ends spectacularly easily in the rain, amusing for some, dangerous for the young people who own them, and girls who own KAs (no bloke could ever get away with owning one!!) I span my old MK3 Fiesta, my sister has spun her Mk4, and I know of a girl who actually flipped her KA onto a hedge after the rear suspension let go of the road half way round a bend.

97 on, be it MK3 Classic, or MK4, and KAs, have front discs that warp and crack after as little as 15k miles, suspension bushes made of cheese and the OHV engines, while quite nice when brand new, they are actually fairly smooth, need constant adjustment and camshafts on the older cars will wear out completely, and my mates 1.1 actually cracked and seized the motor.

Why oh why, when Ford had the lovely 1242 Zetec did they stick with the OHV rubbish?? At least its OHC now though.

My sister was after a KA, I said the Fiesta has a 16v engine, is way quieter, faster, safer (just) has electrical things fitted and a dashboard to cover the metal bits....so she got that instead, I hate hate hate Kas though, I used to know a guy in the motor trade who told me Ford made the most profit of any of their cars on the Ka, coz its costs them peanuts to make them out of the cheapest stuff they can find.
 
22. thy have no front or rear subframe like the mk1 so quite noisy inside compared as suspension is mounted directly to the shell

23. i had to drill rivets from the door of one today just to remove the door lock for crist sake what a pain then i had to dismantle the barrel and replace all the plates as they had all worn out in the presence of ample amounts of grease very bad very fiddly job
