Hello,

New members here. Looking for some advice on a Fiat 500 with a Flashing Odometer.

(2014 Fiat 500)

A few months ago I replaced the instrument cluster with a second-hand one off eBay. (The orange LCD in the centre had stopped working).

Since then the odometer is flashing and also has the mileage from the donor car.
(It's 10k less than the true mileage of the car, so will cause problems at the next MOT)

I've tried disconnecting the battery for half an hour, etc. to see if it resets the flashing, but this hasn't worked.

I've seen the forum posts about needing a Proxy Reset, but also comments about issues with the reset when non-original components are present (i.e. new radio, etc).

Can anyone confirm is a Proxy Reset is the way to go?

I'm in Derbyshire, does anyone know of anyone/anywhere who can do this?

(Getting a copy of MultiECUScan is always an option, I'm just exploring options that might work out cheaper).

Thankyou.

Yes proxi alignment should cure your flashing and you can increase the mileage to match your old one, you cannot go backwards.
As a new member I always ask has your car had a new engine earth strap? This is a required replacement after about 8 years and costs less than a fiver and prevents further problems. There's also an issue with the rear hatch wires.

Thankyou for the reply.
I have a copy of multiecuscan and the cables.

I have completed a prioxi alignment and the odometer has stopped flashing, however i cannot increase the mileage.

I connect to the instrument panel and execute an odometer write, but it says "failed to execute. Incorrect conditions for this test"

Any ideas?
