Fixed glass. It's great. Airy. Unless you are a giraffe. Actually I am not even sure if we concluded that the fixed roof "stole" any headroom like the opening one does.

If you change to a Pop you'll miss out on a load of other goodies too - alloys, Bluetooth, aircon, steering wheel radio controls etc. I don't know whether these matter to you.
I've got a lounge and like the glass roof - it makes the interior feel light and airy, and in the summer you can pull the blind and turn on the aircon if it gets too hot.

The dealer must have a lounge you can sit in - no need to drive it - just be sure you are comfortable and not too close to the roof for comfort.

I specifically went for the glass roof since it ads about an inch of headroom if you open the blind. Being 6'4" I needed it 
And watching the extra light it adds really makes a difference.
Oh, and you can see traffic lights better if you are right up front

I am 6ft3 with the fixed roof lounge and i have plenty of headroom. The opening sunroof is worse off. Stay with the fixed roof it makes the car feel so much nicer in than a car with no panorama roof.
For balance....
We have a Pop and to be honest we have never missed having a glass roof. Having a Pop in Bossa Nova White also helps to keep your car a little bit cooler when it's hot...in theory at least!
Actually, sod that last point - it never gets hot enough anyway. Just go for the Lounge and have done with it

I've never been to bed with the Australian ladies beach volley ball team, and I have never missed it. (Well, not until I am thinking about it now.)

One of the best features of our lounge is the glass roof....it makes the interior light and airy and adds to the feeling of spaciousness in such a small car.
Definitely worth going for IMHO.

You can't - correct - and I considered the same but I couldn't recall the last time I fit a roof rack to any vehicle I've ever owned.
i went for the lounge over the sport because of the roof as i was not a fan of the headlining colour and the roof diverts my attention (i know you could spec it but sport was getting pricey)
i'm a fan of black head linings so pitty the TA+ does not come with one (as the abarth)

There is a roof rack that you can fit to fit the glass roofed 500 but it is technically restricted to 56mph.
Thule do a better one on the tin top.
And on the North American version 500 it has extra re-enforcing for a better roof rack that is sold as a Fiat accessory.
I have seen a system on the A500s for carrying bikes on the back hatch but I got the impression that the spoiler compromises the 'system'.
Lounge model with no spoiler gives a better 'hook up'.

Hi - is this a FIAT accessory as when I was selecting our model I noticed that the accessory list listed one but stated it wasn't suitable for glass roof versions...
so I'm guessing it must be an after 'market' model.
I have the electric sunroof and I love it! I used to have a convertible car, so it was a must for me to go for it! I'm a bit short (1.60 cm) lol so I cannot tell about the headroom because i fit fine no matter what . Go for it fixed or not it's great

Aftermarket model is called 'La PreAlpina' and aside from being TuV approved it has been tested by a member on the FF...
