Hello all, new member here.

I have bought a 2013 Ducato without the key remote and wanted to fit an aftermarket central locking system.
Looking at the documents I have downloaded from this great forum I expected this job would be a piece of cake.
Just tap into the "Door management control unit" and Bob is your uncle.

The reality however is a bit different :bang:
After two hours of tearing the dashboard apart, the "Door management control unit" is nowhere to be found:(.

According to the documentation (2006) the module should be at location 9.

My question is, has Fiat changed the electronics design of the Ducato?
If yes where can the correct documentation be found?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Best regards
Rob

Hi on a 2013 Ducato the door central locking is controlled by the body computer below steering wheel has vehicle got door lock button next to hazard switch and side door button below door windows button drivers door ?how much this aftermarket unit to buy ?would programming new remote key be less trouble?

Hello Whine, Thank you for your reply.

Having a new key programmed by Fiat would cost about 250, Euro
Secondly transmits the Fiat system a non rolling open/close command witch can be easily be used by criminals to open your vehicle.

The aftermarket system I bought was only 40,- Euros and has a rolling code.

To my understanding are the lock/unlock buttons inside the car disabled when the car is locked:confused: correct me if i'm wrong.

Best regards,
Rob.

Can't quite understand this aftermarket Central Locking thing, as if the crooks get your keys or Clone your Signal they bypass your aftermarket locking. How about fitting deadlocks in the doors operated by these tube like keys in a holder that no screwdriver can get in. Fitted them to my old 1992 Kontiki years ago and there still doing well..

All modern day fiat standard remote key fobs have a rolling code same as device you bought and unfortunately any thieving scumbag with knowledge and receiver can replicate the code if your keeping valuables ,tools?there has been some threads in this forum about better locks for vehicle doors search the history been some good write ups, with demos ,and to your question when the system is locked with standard fiat key fob , the lock button near hazard and on door are deactivated and will not open doors however Warning if your fitting aftermarket locking device I would be surprised if the buttons inside cab do as they should when doors are locked if your device can’t tell body computer that doors are locked it will allow the cab buttons to work or is it designed for Ducato?im not familiar with your unit can we have a name of device

Thank you all for your replies.

I decided to connect the central locking unit to the buttons next to the hazard switch and it works:).

If I want extra security I have to close the driver door with the key, this disables the central locking.

The system I bought is just a cheap China product, see attached picture, but it works great!

Thanks again for your support!!

Best regards,
Rob.
