Hi folks,

I'm just about to order a new MP3 compatible head unit for my '07 Doblo and the unit I'm after says it has an "ISO" connector. Will this ISO head unit plug straight into whatever cables used to plug into the factory head unit, or do I need some kind of adaptor cable?

Many thanks,

Jon.

Hi Jon,

Yes it should all connect up fine, on mine the factory unit had the iso socket in the back of the unit, the pioneer I replaced it with had an external iso socket for the plug to connect into, all was fine except it was a tight fit but it went in eventually. Also I had to get an adaptor for the radio ariel socket. Let us know how you get on. Its well worth doing as the factory unit and speakers arent all that good.

Same here, I also had to get an adaptor for the aerial, although I have to say I think the speakers are OK. When I'm hurtling along the motorway I can turn the volume up to a reasonable level without distortion.

Thanks folks, much appreciated... What's this 'aerial adaptor' you speak of? What type of aerial cable/connector is fitted as standard to the Doblo and plugged into the back of the Blaupunkt unit?

Cheers,

Jon.

Some car radios have a din socket, basically it goes very far into the back of the unit, you could easilly stick a pen top into it, some have an iso which protrudes from the surface, the adaptor on the link goes into the din socket and forms an iso protruding socket if you get my drift. The wiring in the doblo will be iso the replacement radio may be din. What unit are you going to fit?

Hoping to get an Alpine IDA-X305

Which the spec says is an ISO unit. I'll have to enquire about the antenna plug thing - thanks for the info. I'm not looking for thumping sounds, just after a way of interfacing my IPOD. I'm also thinking of getting the Bluetooth plugin module thing for it, so I get handsfree mobile interface use as well.

Hello there,
I am about to fit a new stereo to my 06 Doblo.

I understand that the ISO connectors should fit, and that I need a DIN/ISO antennae adaptor, but as I am replacing the CD/Sat Nav/Phone card unit, I wondered if there was anything else I needed to worry about?
There are a lot of non-ISO wires and connections at the back.
I have purchased a 'salvaged' single Pod/binnacle from E Bay.
Thanks, Oz.
