Good evening all

I have just picked up my first abarth. A 2017 with 18k on the clock. Been well looked after full fiat service history, clean MOT history etc.

Is there anything I need to be aware of? I’ve seen things about water pumps every 3 years? From my understanding this one hasn’t been changed but is only low mileage and seemingly not been thrashed. Previous owner is an older lady and one owner prior to that.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

When I had the timing belt done I my Abarth I was expecting them to do the water pump at the same time but was told it's not included in that service. I got it done anyway but I can't say I've heard of any having water pump failures.

Has it had the timing belt done? I'd say that was more critical.

FYI mine is ten years old and the only non-service items it's needed are a battery after eight years and an alternator a couple of months ago.

Sorry - I did indeed mean the timing belt.

Ah. Timing belts intervals are noted in the handbook. On mine it's six years but something in the back of my mind tells me later ones are five years.
I'd get it done, the belt will deteriorate just sitting still.

I work in an accident repair centre so I’m sure our mechanics will be able to take care of it for me.

What is a rough price to get the timing belt changed?
Sorry I didn't reply sooner.
I paid around £500 at my local Fiat Dealer in Kent after a discount offered through my local Abarth club.
Best to call around and maybe ask about the water pump being done too while they're in there.
