General filling cooling system

Um...maybe I'm missing something but...
It appears that the heater core is higher than the expansion tank filler. Therefore, if I fill at the expansion tank, warm it up, let it cool, and top up again...how does the top of the cooling system get filled...as it is impossible to fill something above its open point...if you get what I mean.

The easy way to fill the heater matrix is to open the bleed screw in the return pipe behind the carb. and rev the engine up a bit to get a bit more "head" on the waterpump.
Close the bleed when coolant comes out.

The difficult way is to remove the battery and sound proofing, uncouple the top pipe from the heater matrix and fill through this pipe until coolant spills out of the top of the matrix.
Reconnect quickly.
