Hi!

I'm having a problem trying to work something out and was hoping any of you guys might be able to help me out.

The problem is 2 weeks after a clutch was replaced on a multipla, the front motion bearing collapsed damaging the gear box, also oil leaking from a broken seal contaminated the new clutch and flywheel.

Somebody has suggested that a leaking oil seal would have been the cause of the bearing collapsing but somebody else has said that the bearing would have collapsed first, in turn breaking the oil seal. Does anybody have any idea of which way round things might have happened?

I would really appreciate your help on this as I am at a loss trying to work out how it happened.

Cheers, AJAY

If nobody here can help me does anybody know of a forum/site which I could go to to get advice?

I'd Say that the bearing had gone and was leaking oil when you had your clutch down the first time, and they didn,t tell you about the oil leak. The bearing in 99% of the time goes first then the excessive play in the shaft causes excessive we on the seal and leaks even more oil until the bearing runs dry and usually becomes nosiey, but not in all causes.
