I changed the lock and connector with a few centimeters of wires that go into the lock as there was water corrosion on the jack/connector, and the dashboard still shows that the boot is open when it's closed, also boot light goes on when you open and of when you close the boot!
I did all like in this video remove the spaces https : // www . youtube . com / watch?v=2Ia6aflOV9s

The boot opens and closes normally with the key or dashboard button and all doors lock and open fine.
I checked all the fuses under the string wheel and they all look ok!
A local mechanic plugged it onto a computer to see if it was an error that could be removed and it couldn't, and said that this is not a removable error and that needs to go to a car electrician!

Before I take the car to the car electrician, I would like to see if the problem is solvable by me, and if not just to know what is it exactly so that I don't get a huge bill from him like he had to change ten things instead of one or two!

Any help would be appreciated!

You could do the job again, it appears you made a mistake.

Personally i'd ignore it because its not an MOT fail, and its just an annoying dashboard LED.

The last thing i'd do is spend £150+ on an auto-electrician.

How have you fixed it because I have the same problem

I haven't, but I noticed that the diode on the dashboard goes off on cold days. I guess that there is a loose contact somewhere down the installation cables, and on cold days, it shrinks a bit, and the light goes off! It's a hassle for me now to disassemble everything to find it!
