General fiat ducato wiring problem

i have an r reg fiat ducato 10 swb. the wiring to the starter motor has burnt out, possibly due to a bodge job that was done before i bought it. does anyone have a diagram of the wiring in this area? i have one of those cd manual things, but its absolute ****e to be honest...
any other tips or advice you can give?

about 1997/1998 ish i think

righty ho. the wire that has burnt is going into the fuel tank. its fairly skinny, and when you take off that access plate in the cab, it just pokes out of the tank. is it maybe somthing ot do with the fuel guage?
one of the earth lugs has come loose, could this be the reason its failed?
