Well after a hit and run I have had to replace one of the rear light clusters.
All the wiring had to be stripped back to the basic fives wires
Black earth
Blue indicators
Red brake lights
Yellow side lights
White reversing lights.
The question is where has the fog light wire gone
Or is the white wire used for both the reversing light and the fog light ….
Hmmm yeah it is a challenge ent it . I had exactly the same problem on my Hymer based motorhome . It's actually a left hooker , but no fog light on the right hand side . Yea i lost mine during the rip apart , as the wiring was quite rough and needed replacement . Under the Construction and uses act , the law states that a single fog light must be placed on the off side of a vehicle in this country , and i surmised a similar law in Europe , who i'm sure you will have noticed , drive on the wrong side of the road . The reason why the foglight is on the nearside of a foreign vehicle .
Okay so enough pratting about already . The foglight wire is actually on the nearside of the standard Duke loom , you simply need to run an auxiliary wire across to the right hand side of a UK registered vehicle . I can't remember the colour , but as this area is not yet complete on my vehicle , i can check if needed . Just as a note , vehicles of this age are not required by law to have reversing lights , but are often fitted anyway on the nearside , i believe the opposite to be true on foreign vehicles .
I upgraded to twin foglights , fitted in new clusters on a motorcycle rack , plus renewed both my original van mounted clusters with twin reversing lights , which required a two core cable run behind the rear bumper between the original clusters to carry the extensions . This allowed me to tidy up the rear end , and lose a single aftermarket foglight fitted to the off side . I actually had three foglights (two on the nearside) and two reversing light , a complete a mess .
