Hi I have a 2001 fiat ducato 2.8i jtd motorhome 2001 tried to start it after winter but engine turned over but not firing. I changed fuel filter but no fuel coming out of pipe. I checked the tank float pipes and no fuel coming from there when engine turns over and cannot locate fuel pump. It worked perfectly before winter but was left with a full tank of deisel over winter any ideas anyone. Thank you

Thanks for all replies the cut off switch is to the right of the rear of the battery and has a rubber cover on top which he pressed I probably accidentally pressed it when I tried to get the battery of to charge up as I had a problem trying to access the rear battery connector and it took about 30 mins and lots of twisting and pulling the battery to get it out. I did not have to touch the immobiliser in the end the mechanic went straight too it he was brilliant. What areas he covers I don't know but I highly reccomend. Will put photo of his card details on post and will put photo of fuel cut out location later. Thanks again to everyone.

Pressing the button resets it to go position.
Probably bumped it with battery causing it to trip out.....good to know it's there I'm sure will benefit someone.
Thank you for update.
Will you be going on hols?

I understand the inertia switch, but may I ask as towhat it is operating on when no lift pump fitted?

I can only assume that it is incuded in the stop solenoid circuit.

I am guessing it is the ECU telling the injectors to fire, as on my Iveco with same engine it would crank but no ignition. In my case blowing the key chip away with a steam cleaner as unbeknown to me Utility company previous owner had placed the chip behind the speakers taped to the aerial ring to make it cheaper when their drivers broke the keys!
Sorry but no substantial ECU, as from OP's photos this is a 2.8idTD, with which you are familiar.

Oh! Sorry, I was still reading from the JTD heading and mixing threads/postings, so this is the one with the Bosch VE pump and manual injectors?
I will delete it to avoid confusion.;)
Yes it is the one with Bosch ve injection pump. Op has done well to get this sorted and found a good local mechanic.

Be very very careful with metal watch band near the battery... you don't want to loose that hand to being burnt off.
I agree , that was one of the first risks they mentioned in safety in the work place film at Technical College as an apprentice in 1970:).
Right about the local mechanic too, on the Ivecos from memory the fuel inertia trigger was under the passenger glove box along with fuses and relays etc.
