Technical FIAT C1240-86

Anyone knows what could be the source of the code C1240-86?
Looking up online it says that its a signal reading which is not the correct value given the operating conditions.

FIAT 2.0 9 speed auto.

Hi and thank you for your response.

Mine is a 2.0 diesel with ZF 9 speed automatic transmission but I will pass this troubleshooting sequence on to the mechanic and hopefully it will be sorted. For now the valvebody is on its way for checking - again, but this time in the UK.

I don't think the engine makes a difference. The error code is for the gearbox / associated systems. To my knowledge the info posted is applicable to all engine versions.
