Hi everyone,

I have been dismantling the Auxiliary and Timing Belts with the ultimate goal of replacing the water pump because it had leaks. I have finally reached her.

But the problem I find is that I can't extract it. It must be stuck, although it turns well.

I have tried to do some lever under the notchs with a screwdriver on rags and woods on the block. I don't want to do too much strength so as not to damage the aluminum motor block. But the pump seems welded :cautious:

Any idea?

Thank you

Look at the new pump,

Are there dowels (tubes) on there

That will make it tight 😉

The new water pump fits about 6mm and carries a slim channel for the O -ring. The old pump is stuck, I removed all the glue or universal joint of silicone from outside. I don't remember well, but I think that old pump can be the original '96.

By draining the antifreeze fluid circuit, nothing of oxide has come out, all clean and bright green.

Theoretically it should be something that comes easy with your hand. The problem is that I can't get it out. I have used the Stillson tool and the pump does not move at all.
