Hi everyone.

I have begun to disassemble the timing belt to my Fiat Brava 1.4 12V 80CV of 1996. The ultimate goal is to replace the water pump.

The first inconvenience has been to extract the auxiliary belt. My model is the one that carries the air conditioning and the pulley is so close to the chassis that the height of the belt does not pass between the two parts. I can't extract it.

Any tips?

Thank you

Hello,

As far as I remember, I've uploaded the factory workshop manual to the download section of the forum some time ago. Can't be sure, but I think this part was covered ;)

Looking at the photos I can see that this belt needs replacement, too. So you can just cut it and remove. However it'd be good to know how to put the new one ;)

Looking at the cracking on the belt I would just cut it off for now and then order a new one, often there is enough wiggle room in the engine mount to Jack against the engine and push the engine slightly away from the subframe, certainly enough to slip the belt on

Thank you, it's true, the belts are wrong, I already have both belts bought.
I have been studying the manual, I suppose it would be loosening the 4 scheme screws and I hope there is no gas leak.

Thank you, the belts are wrong, I will cut it. Where is the point against push the engine away from the subframe?
