Any recommendations on replacement looms JRK?

AECars & Fiat Workshop both sell them as well as others for about £50, they all look the same but if they are quality wise or not.

Mulling it over I think I’d prefer to crimp fit a replacement rather than solder the whole lot. Given mine is a temporary repair I’d like to line up a replacement.

Should be simple to cut the wires one at a time and crimp them, hide/push any excess into the boot or chassis (or cut a short length out) then I assume and jobs a good’un.
I repaired ours a good few years ago now using standard test meter silicone cable doing one wire at a time ( might come back to bite me but only had red so they are all red!) soldered them with heat shrink on them the only two that will give issue is the heated rear screen wires, you need a "beefy" soldering iron to do these two don't use crimp on for these two especially

All one colour is fine, until it needs more work, then care is needed to ensure they're all properly connected. One at a time should be fine, but coudl be fun for a subsequent owner. It works, so it is good.
I have encountered, many years ago, Citroens using black wires for everything. A taillight had just a mass of black wires feeding it, each wire having a tiny coloured sleeve on it, where it met the connector. If disconnecting, or repairing, it was important not to lose the sleeve.

I used a silicone one from Amazon. Had crimpconnectors so needed a tool and a third hand.
Look in the thread of my Topolino Grigio.

Any issues with the rear washer hose leaking or just use PTFE or glue the connections?

Any known differences with the 2016 onwards cars? My photo doesn’t show/allow me to count the number of wires without taking it out again (my bad).

Short of cutting the wires, is there a way to stop the rear wiper automatically coming on in reverse, fitting a bike carrier and don't want it to work as it will hit the rack.

Had a look to MES. In body computer, list of units I could click the item and a menue popped up that allowed activaon, deactivation and cancel to leave. It was in simulation mode so I haven't tried in real

Great, the car's my 'holiday' car that I leave in France. When I'm over next month and fit the bike rack I'll look to see if I can disable in MES . I know I'll just forget to turn off the wipers when I put it in reverse and,..........🤬

Just looked at that, whilst you can test operation by activate etc, I couldn't see how to disable its operation completely? Is it proxi alignment that stores different functions permanently?

Mine was due to the parking wire (middle connector) breaking off the end of the terminal. Just dismantled the connector and resoldered it.

aha this is touching on one of the ongoing electrical problems I mentioned that are affecting wee Fergus.

His boot can only be opened via the key, attempting to pop open by pressing the boot release itself fails. The rear wiper comes on every time you turn the ignition key, settling wherever it wants on the rear window. And then, just to let me know he's the boss, when you attempt to use the screenwash it's a real hash bash. Pushing forward releases screenwash but you need to manually operate the front wipers, all the while the back wiper is also going as it seems to think it too was asked to wash/ wipe. Same thing happens when you attempt to clean rear window.

And then the illumination bulbs on the heater control panel. I assumed the bulbs had gone out months ago, looked up the youtube video showing how to change them and was about to do so when completely randomly they have came back on.

Character building. Wife thinks the car should have been called Herbie as he does what he wants.

I have a feeling however that these particular electrical problems have the potential to a real pain in the backside if not addressed.

All that and I can say driving the wee car is great fun and puts a smile on my face. Not powerful in any way, but a hoot at what it does do well.
The late- great James Hunt (racing driver) once said he got more driving pleasure out of his old Renault 4 bread van than the formula 1 cars ,because it was so low powered he had to thrash it all the time and was driving at the cars limits 90% of the time meaning he had to THINK he called it a mix of fear and excitement
