Hello,
My door handle driver's side has came off!
i am looking to purchase a replacement myself and get a garage to fit.
Would anyone know if I would need just a new chrome handle or would i need the handle and the hinge? Garage happy to fit if I order the part.
I have no idea how to fit a new handle but assume a new hinge mechanism would be needed as well as a handle...

The door handle has come off - the front bit....
Maybe best to take photo
It's the bit that you hold when you open the door if that makes sense - so the brackets are still on the door just the pull bit that is off...i have to open my door from inside of car which is not ideal....
Not sure if I need whole kit with hinge....
 
Before you fit the new hinge or complete handle, put a bit of lube on the metal pin that goes through the hinge pivot.
Also when the nut is removed from inside the door ( with the interior door card trim removed ), the exposed threaded part of the handle hinge needs a few layers of masking tape on it to lessen the risk of scratching the exterior door paint when removing/ re-fitting.
 
Thanks so much all - this is really helpful advice and info - I don't think i can fit myself but I shall take to mechanic to do the job - this is a picture of my car without a handle and the handle itself! I assume that when the mechanic fits it, he'll need the whole kit as John has said with lock barrel...i've attached photos to better explain...many thanks

Possibly from Amazon, you just remove the old lock barrel and put in new handle, just a circlip I think, otherwise the key would be different.
Order from EBay and if delivery not as listed(within reason) ask for refund

Yes Amazon can supply it about £10 more than EBay at a quick look

just to jump into this - my handle broke today - pesky door was frozen shut - anyway, I an struggling to find a supplier for my handle as its matt grey not chrome (2017 1.2S) any tips before I have to go to the stealer - found some arbarth ones that are "graphite" cant make up my mind if its the same colour - all the pics of abarths i can find seem to have brushed steel finish
 
thank you john - ive just looked the ebay link and it looks fine - but the only thing is the handle bit that came off doesnt have the chrome bit that sticks out - the thin bit that looks like wire - slightly confused - so the bit that is still on the car has the round hole in ad the bit that came off is just the handle with not spikey bits or wire looking things - i'm not sure if i need to get a new bit that is still on the care as well as the chrome handle or will the ebay one match up with the bit that is still on the car?.... the chrome handle that has come off has code number inside....it's a different no to the one on ebay image below.....so i wouldnt need a new lock barrel? as then i would need new key.....

Hi, just an update - i purchased the door handle from the site listed in thread - it arrive yesterday and it is so much larger than the one that came off - i will have to return it - i dont know if they have sent the wrong one or whether this is the one that is for Fiat 500 but for sure it is way too big for Fiat 500 - i am very disappointed and upset about this as I have booked my car in to have this fitted and now the handle is too big

So just to check, the old handle, is it the same size as the new excluding the part where the lock goes? From your picture it looks the right part?
