I've been told the above model is being recalled and I've been asked to bring my above car into the dealership for a software update to the Euro 5.

Anyone else been contacted?

It's the first I've heard of it, and I can't find anything from a quick google, but in the light of the VW scandal, I've a bad feeling about this.

It would be understandable if you were concerned about getting the car back with less power, worse economy, and even more likelihood of DPF issues than normal, with no way of returning to its present state of tune.

What are you planning to do about it?

Personally I'd hold back until we know more. Anyone in the know with more info?

I'm doing nothing until I know more.

I've put my concerns squarely at the Director's PA who I dealt with just after I got this replacement car.

To say that I am concerned, in light of my 9 month battle with the first 500 1.2, is an understatement.

Good Grief! I'm not in the least surprised at your concern.

I too have Googled, and can find nothing with respect to your recall.

Good luck, and keep us informed.
Mick.

Don't panic, it is an ecu update for alternator charging and glow plug, just a normal product update to ensure no issues regarding those.
There is no issues along the lines of v.w. regarding Fiat, most manufacturers

Indeed, fiat take alternator charging and glow plugs very seriously so a official mass product recall seems to the the appropriate way to deal with such a minor issue.

The same company that didn't recall the mk2 punto with a well known airbag fault or the Euro 6 - 500 problem which they flatly denied was a problem. Oh and all the power steering issues on the grande punto which caused accidents and made national news and got Tv coverage.....

All those things are not as important as battery charging and your glow plugs working.

Do we have an internet link to all this yet?
Have Fiat come out and said something to the public?
Are there any facts available?

Mick.

Ah, but is this a VOSA recall, a FIAT recall or a FIAT service campaign?

This would be enormous news if it was a VW-style emissions tweak, given the number of cars/brands the 1.3 dismal is in
