Hello!

I bought a twinair last week. It seems to HATE being cold started.
It is around -5 to -15 degrees celsius outside. When I come out in the morning it starts on first try, but the whole car vibrating and shakes. After 30sec to 1 min the engine dies. When i try start again it shuts almost directly. But if I give it a pump on the gaspedal it’s finally starts. But after 30 seconds it goes to limp mode. After I letting it running for 5 mins I restart the car and it works like nothing happend.

We do have one code ”Misfire cylinder 2” (only when engine is cold)

Where should I start??

Thanks. /// sorry for my bad english, im swede..

Hi and welcome :)

Having only 2 spark plugs.. they have a hard life :(

I would change them NOW ;)

These motors need special oil too..
( it is used to power the fuel injectors..)
so oil that is at the wrong thickness might not help

Your English was fine
Tak.. :)

Charlie

Thanks Charlie

I’ll change em right away!

What special oil? Is it 5W-40 ACEA C3 It says that in manual and when I look up on internet.

Thanks again

Anyways, I’ve replaced sparkplugs & changed oil yesterday to 5W-40 ACEA C3. Now it doesn’t even wanna start ???

I feel im about to begin hate this car ?

I'd be suspicious of the uniair module; it's a reasonably common issue with these cars. At this point, it might help to run a proper diagnostic using MES or Examiner; a generic code reader is unlikely to be sufficient.

You may be about to discover the reason why the previous owner sold it.

We have change sparkplugs and oil. Same thing still.. Now we did clean a vent to uniair module. Hope it works better tomorrow. I’ll update you thanks folks

Hello.

It didn't work by cleaning the "filter"/vent".
We do think the whole uniair/multiair module is finished.. They are not cheap.. Is there anything else I can try before replacing the whole module??

Why is it temperature related..??

The fact it was ok when warm only a few days ago tells me it is worth investigating other basic service items

Sorry for not beeing active!

And sorry for no answer.
Ye its temperature related cuz when I use warm garage (at work) it starts like there was nothing. But in the cold morning (-5 to -15 minus degrees celsius) its horrible to start.

But yeah last monday they picked up my fiat and took it 4hrs away from my town so investigate the car. I’ll update you when they got a report!

We think it’s the uniair /twinair module (not a fun cost)
