I was driving and when I went to shift gears all the sudden I hear a pop and the shifter got all sloppy and very hard to find gears etc. Once getting it home I tore into it and notice this plastic collar had broke and the rubber ring in the aft of the shifter came out of place also.
My question is what is the best way of going about fixing this, does the whole shifter assy. need to come out?
