I was sick and tired of the dirty electrical covering on the engine so I decided to try and tidy things up a touch and this is the result so far ..I also no longer keep the engine cover on either as it was holds to much heat under there :)

Looks nice phil. Ive been meaning to do this... but the stilo is being abused atm the moment as i just dont have time for her atm :(

I would have replaced some of the tubes with silcone hose instead of those covers though.

Pitty i didnt get to see it in the flesh at CC.

looking nice mate, do they do replacements for the plastic bottles in chrome would look even better then.

The bottles can be bought and are custom made I am considering these as well as getting the strut brace chromed :chin:

LOOK SWEET...............
I take it the air intake is blue because its a non standard part from an induction system?.

Also what have you used to spay up your battery box with, looks cool in white, if its standard paint i think i may spray mine in GRINGO STEEL to match the car, but i dont think i will remove the engine cover atm, ive quiet often opened the bonnet and found water sitting in the grooves, i dont like the idea of that getting into the rather open coils and engine managment plugs on top of the engine.
Nice work though...

I used Hammerite smooth silver Roy just give the cover a rub over with some fine wet and dry to key the surfaces and gradually build up the coats on them If your getting water in there its probably leaking in around your windscreen washers ..is your under bonnet covering all manky and mildew [white ] where the washers are ?

^^^ LMAO....

Thanks for that info, i may give it a shot as im now happy again with my stilo (after drastic gearbox failure).
I did have a leaky rear washer which i spotted when i was doing the cc mod, the hose was not all the way home. I do have a little bit of white on the sound deading but nothing to worry about. I think the water issue is the sort of driving i have to do, at 20k a year on badly drained roads (ie a127 is sometimes more like a swimming pool than a road) thats where its coming from. I prooved this as when one of my headlights blew it wasnt long before it filled with condensation, as soon as a replaced the bulb it was fine. I may actually take it off for the summer months to help with cooling and take advantage of dry roads, plus your bay look soooo sweet i want it lol.
thanks
roy

Great effort, but I don't think you can make a FIAT engine look pretty, they aren't designed that way. I know it sounds silly, but other manufacturers, not all of them but some of the others make their engines look pretty too, look at some of the Alfa engines.........................................

I'm always up for a challenge and much of it is personal taste :)

Eh you!

Don't get offended, I didn't mean it like that, what I meant is that if FIAT gave a hoot they could make the top engine casting prettier, with big letters in it like FIAT, 16V, or SEDICI VALVOLE, etc, and make it silver rather than black, stainless maniflod, you get what I mean, a-la-alfa type thing.

Same with the new Bravo, why oh why didn't they conceal the rear door handles like the 147s???

FIAT don't think!

I didnt take any offence Twinny :D and I have still a long way to go on my car with many things and its gonna take some time and money before I get there ..all those items you listed are very do able but I think we know by now that they are down to us and not fiat ..things such as chromed water and windscreen wiper bottles.. chromed strut brace ..stainless manifolds..are all down to the owner as well as increasing my brakeing power and engine power even further are just some of the things I hope to do to my car (y)
