Hello,

A few weeks ago my electric windows (both) stopped working suddenly. No movement, no sound - nothing. Since both stopped working at the same time and neither switch (driver side and passenger side) works I assumed it would be the fuse.

Checked the fuses - both the motor fuses (26 and 28) and the control fuse (48) and all fine.

Car is 2007 Grande Punto.

Any ideas what this might be?

Thanks in advance,

Callum

Is everything else not working incase it's a general wiring?

As Andy says, check power to switches in door and then trace onwards. If no power to switches check continuity of wiring.

Thanks all. Other faults are the boot has stopped opening, but having looked at other posts it looks like this is a common issue so have ordered a replacement boot locking mechanism.

My only query regarding power to switches is that they both stopped working simultaneously...? Would a fault with one affect the other?

Thanks,

C

No need for a new boot lock, old ones needs contacts cleaning. Common problem, plenty of info here on how to do it.

What did you do to get your windows fixed in the end? I am experiencing the exact same problem...

I had similar problems on my GP. First try windows at different door positions, mine were working just when they were little open, until they failed completely. After that I took of doors plastic cover, you have several plastic clips and I think one bolt. After removing plastic cover, I connected new wires, where old ones were broken. After that, working as new one. If you don’t have light on switches, you may have broken wires...

As replied in your other post, chack the relay Thomas …
