I was wondering if anyone has fitted one of the Ecotek valves to their Punto. I have an 8V Mk2 and am not quite sure which hose it goes onto. There are 2 hoses , one blue and one black. The blue one goes into a sensor and the black one into the inlet block. Do i install the Ecotek into the Black hose?? I know there is a thicker hose which goes onto the injector block which i guess is the fuel inlet so i have discounted fitting it there, but i am still not sure so any help would be kindly appreciated.

Haven't fitted one of these but do be careful which hose you fit it to...we don't want to fit it to a high pressure fuel line!!!! I understand the unit should be fitted to the vacuum line between the brake servo and inlet manifold. find the servo on the bulkhead (drivers side in mk 1 punto)and trace the thick rubber hose running from this to the manifold..cut and insert as ecotek instructions...hopefully the hose and ecotek pipes will match!
You could also do a web search as I have seen instructions on there someplace...Let us all know if it works.

I have fitted it and early indications are quite favourable. More mid range grunt which will probably make me more lazy on the gearbox than i should be.
On the MK2 it fits to the shiny black pipe which goes from the manifold to the servo unit. It is an easy job, well it was for me and i am not very practical.
I bought the combo which means i have got a Pipercross filter to deaden the noise a bit, but its barely audible in the car. Will update on MPG and performance when it's bedded in a bit more.B)

Now i have had the Ecotek Valve on my car for a couple of weeks i can tell you what they do. On my 2000 8v ELX, it has made it pull much quicker and smoother after changing gear. I timed my 70mph to 80mph and before the valve it was 12 seconds from 70 to 80 and the same from 80 to 90. Well, that is now down to 8 seconds for both ranges. This was done on the same stretch of motorway two weeks apart after the valve had settled in. Also after the initial "drive it like a c**t" stage was over with, it now gives at least 2 more MPG which is fine by me as i travel a lot on the motorway and stick to around 70-80mph. It will probably pay for itself in about 6 months but the temptation is to lead foot it a bit more now. The changes were instant and it looks pretty good too.
