Hello, I’ve been on the forum for a little while and this is my first post (I think!)
I have had a look and I can’t see a thread with quite the same problem I’m having:
Starts and runs fine hot or cold with good power and no obvious smoke.

Will occasionally cut out on the over-run and the engine light is on. Usually after a period of motorway driving.

Will not start. Engine turns over nice and fast but not start.

Wait 5 mins and it will start, engine light goes out and runs fine again.

Happens occasionally and sometimes will repeat multiple times on the same journey.

Camshaft sensor was replaced - no change.

Slight diesel leak noticeable on the injector pump (not enough to drip).

Any pointers? Suspecting fuel pressure issue?

May I suggest reading the fault codes.
It is worth noting that the camshaft sensor is only used to determine the stroke when starting.
The engine subsequently depends upon the crankshaft sensor.
Crankshaft sensors can fail when hot.
Unfortunately on the 2.8jtd the crankshaft sensor is not the easiest part to access.
See attached photo, which was taken looking over the subframe.
