Hi. Brand new to this forum.
I’ve a major problem with my 2015 Ducatomotorhome.
Comformatic gearbox.
I can be driving along and then all hell breaks loose.
The dash lights up like a Xmas tree
ASR light comes on
Hill assist not available
Abs light comes on
Cruise control light goes off and won’t work
Transmission fault
Gear not available
If I stop at a junction it goes into neutral and won’t select gears
If I turn the engine off it won’t start again for anything between 10 mins and 10 hours.
If left overnight it seems to reset itself but at times I get the same problems within a few mins
Even when on the motorway I’ll start getting all the warning lights so I pull off the road as fast as I can.
It’s doing it like every day now. Engine can be warm or cold. It makes no difference. Had it on soo many diagnostic computers at different garages and they all say it could be anything as they just don’t know.
I live in it full time and it’s making me not want to go anywhere unlsss I really need to.

Please someone help me.

Sean.

You could try putting a jump lead from the negative battery terminal to a solid metal part of the engine like a lifting eye, thus making a temporary earth and if secure enough take it for a quick run and see if this stops the weird behaviour. If so then it’s an earth fault

Thanks for the reply. My mechanic did piggyback another earth cable but that didn’t help. I’ve also changed all the abs sensors as someone suggested that it could be a faulty sensor. Still no joy tho.

Ah fair enough. From that long list you’ve given there’s obviously a major fault somewhere, possible water ingress somewhere maybe?

Hi Sean,
Perhaps slightly belated, but welcome to the forum.
Several of the faults that you mention are not directly related the the transmission, and those that are could conceivably be due to communication problems betwween the engine, and transmission ecu's. There is a known problem with 2006 and later Ducatoes that may well be worth eliminating, namely the "rusty junction" problem. This occurs when a wiring harness below the LHS headlamp rubs against a tubular steel frame member. Once the thin black paint is worn away, abrasive rust developes, and wires in the harness can be worn away. Add a bit of moisture and............

Thanks for that. I’ll check. Would it be the same on my a class as the headlights are positioned differently.

Difficult to answer that with certainty, but it is not related to the headlights. Unless converter has fitted complete new engine harness which s unlikely, then will probably still apply, but more difficult to inspect for on "A" class.
