Hello guys.
I have some issues with a 2.0 diesel (mondeo, not fiat) but the issue remains. My car has 330.000km and I have to choose between those options. I have found the cleaning of Dpf costs me about 200 euro, anulation 250euro, a new Dpf aftermarket (but new with invoice and warranty ) costs about 400/450 euro and original is out of my price range.
Why mechanics and a few friends are saying not to buy a aftermarket dpf ? Are the not reliable ? Over the years I have used lots of new parts but not original and never had issues.

Aftermarket DPFs are generally rather rubbish, and tend to fail pretty quickly. Always best to stick to stock parts - as noted above, a used one with warranty will be just as good, if not better, than a new aftermarket.

It's always worth a DPF clean. Pretty sure the Ford 2.0 has a vaporiser system (a fifth injector which squirts fuel into the DPF to help it get to temperature) - these often get blocked up, thus causing the DPF to block. It may just need a new vaporiser.
