Tuning Double-din: couple оf questions

I'll search the forum for double-din fascia links, I believe there were quite a lot. Not sure if a genuine accessory exists from FIAT, but will check that too.

When you say "thin" HU you mean short at the back, right? I am leaning towards
Pioneer AVH-X8500BT, I really want the fully detachable panel and that's the cheapest non-navigation HU. Can't find any dimensions though, I thought double-din HUs are supposed to be standardized? I don't see how to check if it's going to fit without removing my radio and measuring the space...

That pioneer looks good.

You can check the depth of the HU's on website such as this one: http://www.saturn.de/mcs/product/PIONEER-AVH-X-8500-BT,48352,475813,740382.html

This one is 27.8cm deep, I'm not sure but it seems like a lot. You can check other HU's and compare, if there's one that you like that is thinner, it would be better.

If you end up with a HU too deep, it will take you extra work on the wiring to move wiring adapaters away from the rear of the HU and into your glovebox.
