Technical Door switch?

I've read that there's a problem with the door switch which can give a false door open warning and courtesy light coming on. Well I've had this for years but recently it's got worse so I thought I'll have a look at the switch but I don't have a switch just a plastic plug where it should be!?
Anyone know where it is.

Built into the lock..?


Try using a Screwdriver / Stick to Lock the mechanism ( with the door open)

You can do this on each door to see where the problem is..

Potentially a broken wire near the hinge..

Thanks, I'll have a look. Thought they might have attached the switch to the door stay. I know which door, the drivers, I can lean or pull it to turn it on or off.

My expereince with the micro switches is mostly that its best to buy a new lock. But I have managed to clean the odd one and cure the issue. I would add that using eBay parts to get over this has proved a disaster. I would ALWAYS get a genuine one or a tested used one not an unbranded lock. DO the job once its easier. Always check any lock is specifically for a RHD or LHD car as appropriate.
