General Door Pillars/Messed Up

So I have rain deflectors that I put a long time ago on my 2013 Fiat 500 Sport
And two ends by the mirror and door pillar didn’t seem to stick
So I decided to glue them down bathroom silicone and it worked out!
Then I started cleaning off the excess silicone with razor blade and Goof Off and alcohol
Lo and Behold I make a real mess of it
I thought I would be able get the excess silicone off with a razor blade and alcohol but the residue stained the pillar
Then I used Goof Off and it made it worse!
and now I don’t what to do

can I take off rain deflectors polish out the scratches made by the razor in the plastic pillars
Put the deflectors back on with 3M double sided tape
Maybe use a heat gun to bend the deflectors and little bit and tape them on
What would I use to polish them out
Rubbing compound or plastic polish?

Well done you really mucked it up LOL.
Now this is what I would try.
Get some old traditional razor blades and take the time to trim away the excess mm by mm. This will taked a lot of time and effort. DOnt panic, but go very slowly and tou will succeed. When you have a more tidy edge remeber that if you cannot correct it, you must disguise it! Get some black silicon and cover the edge with it. Use sellotape to define the edge line then if you over shoot you can peel it away leaving a perfectly straight edge.

Look for mastic applicator tools as these greatly help you to leave the profile you want to give a neat edge.

There are chemicals that will loosen mastic but I have no idea how they would react to the trim.

ALso search on line for suitable paints to cover mastic, Im sure there will be something that allows overpainting. You will have to invest a fair bit of time to recover this but do not despair as I am certain it can be done. There are paints for everything.

Main thing is to thing of diguising it. The other possible option is obtain some car body wrap and fit some pieces to cover the gap. I am sure I have see A4 sheets on eBay recently.
Think about making it neat and maybe do a strip down the door to its waist. If ot looks neat it may well look like its meant to be there.

Key lesson with silicon is to tape an edge and use purpose made profile tool. These can give you a neat bubble edge or profile of you choosing.

I hope you maage to get it back. Black polish works wonders too on paintwork.

Thx so much for all the information
I think what I will try first is to remove the rain visors get them out of the way
(Put them back with 3M double sided tape or black silicone done right with tape to make a straight edge)
Then I try polishing it out with wax or plastic cleaner to try to take out the scratches
It that doesn’t work I will look into pillar and aperture (Mirror triangle) covers on ebay or amazon (vinyl decals or actual covers made to fit)
The only problem with the vinyl is will I be able to fasten back the rain deflectors to the vinyl with 3M tape?
