I have a FIAT Ducato campervan which has had the front seats replaced with Captains type seats. These are wider than the standard model. This makes it very difficult to get at the handbrake lever as it is now partially under the seat.

Does anyone know of a way of adapting/changing the lever to make it more accesible?

Thanks

No response on that one then...

How about disabled driver conversion suppliers? Know of any who might be able to assist?

Cheers

I have corrected this problem easily by loosening the three bolts securing the handbrake unit to the seat, Put a spacer such as a nut on the top bolt and this will allow the handle to be pulled up as far as you need after securing the three bolts again

Thanks Clarkpeacock.

One of those adaptors should do the trick. I've emailed them for details and prices.

Just fitted a handbrake adaptor from Specialist Vehicle Operations and it makes life a lot easier. The handbrake is now within easy reach, is much larger and higher.

Simple to fit - it just slide over the existing handbrake and tighten four nuts.

Only problem is that with the extra height and our wider seats the handle is now tight under the seat when on so you have to be careful not to trap your fingers but by just pulling with fingers under the handle it goes on nice and easy and quick touch releases it.

Well pleased with the fitting, operation and the build quality. Definitely recommended.

Thanks

Julian
