I have a Fiat Tipo SW 1.3 2017. I am satisfied with the car. Interestingly, consumption has been very high recently. In places where it normally marked 5/6L per 100km it now reaches 15/16, something is not right. I'm talking about instant consumption. And also sometimes I notice a smell from the exhaust, a strange smell. When it gets warmer and I walk a bit the smell goes away. Does anyone have a similar situation? Could it be related?

It went in for review today. They don't find anything that justifies high consumption. The mechanic discovered that I have a particle filter that is occupied at 81%, in November it was at 31%. I don't drive much, I do an average of 600km per month, maybe not that much. Every week I have to go on the highway to pull him along. But he should force the regenerations. I've seen the light on, but lately it hasn't turned on. My mechanic thinks it may have been an interrupted regeneration. I'm going to do the test and next week I'll go back to the mechanic to see the percentage.

Does anyone have a similar situation? Any suggestions? Thanks

My suggestion would be put a bottle of DPF additive in at next fuel tank refill, then with engine fully warmed up do a 30 mile trip on dual carriageway at around 50 -60 mph without stops if possible and in a gear that keeps the engine revs at between 2000 and 3000rpm.
After that, see how it behaves and if DPF particle count still high then it may be a more expensive fix, but try this first, as it has worked for many modern small diesels that are generally only used at slow speeds around town which is no good for them.
Note if your engine coolant temp doesn't reach normal(90degrees) quickly then this will aggravate the issue.
Also, if it does sort the problem you will have to repeat every few months or change your driving habits, as in faster longer journeys.
Let us know how you get on.:)

Thanks for the reply. Any suggestion to that car model?

Spanish Doblo 1.3mj on Forum driven by older guy I suggested it to with success as he reported back, also apart from others, my own daughters 2010 VW Golf 1.6 diesel ( I also had to fit a new thermostat and keep advising her to use the additive on fill ups of fuel) So far no further problem.:)
Small diesels with DPF really hate town use and clog up quickly.

Great. 1 bottle per deposit?

Instructions on the bottle, but for your problem use whole bottle in before filling the fuel tank, if successful then a reduced amount when filling tank.
Note if you try and do the cleaning operation with a low fuel in tank it will not work as computer will stop the cleaning process!
It is well worth trying as per my instructions and a lot cheaper if it works than a new DPF etc.:(
What you are trying to do is get the exhaust hot enough to clean it's self, something pottering around town will not do!
