So, this Doblo is just the gift that keeps on giving. Now, we have a split CV boot, not an issue, I will just order a new Driveshaft, yup, can't get one anyone where, no-one lists availability for one.

So, now I am looking at the cheaper but monumentally more difficult option of Boot replacement,

what I would like to know before I start to strip things down, how easy is the outer CV to get off and does it even come off and how???

Over the years I have literally fitted 100s of drive shaft CV boots and only a few drive shafts and CV joints in comparison.
Generally you drop the lower suspension ball joint after undoing the hub nut and with wheel off (obviously carefully supported on axle stands with suspension hanging down) once like that you may need to release the track rod end to get more movement , but the idea is to slide the drive shaft CV joint end out of the wheel hub, release the clips and remove the old split CV boot, now comes the interesting bit if you wipe the grease away you may see a circlip on some, but on many it is internal so if lucky a blow with a copper mallet on the edge of the CV joint whilst supporting the drive shaft so it doesn't fall out of the gearbox along with 2 litre of gear oil, the CV joint should pop off.;)
That is the easy way then allowing the new boot to be slide on and filled with the supplied grease and clipped into place.
If that method doesn't work there is a tool which can be used to grip the shaft and as it is tightened the CV joint pops off.
The third method is to buy a stretchy type pattern CV boot and using a well oiled plastic trumpet stretch the new boot over the CV joint and fit grease and clips etc.
