General Cracked rear light cluster, MOT Failure?

Hi there, Been searching all over the net for MOT test standards and cant find anything on cracked light clusters... Theres a 3 inch vertical crack at the side of my mk1 punto (So not obscuring the light) With a 2 milimetre wide hole at one part, Am I right in thinking this a failure? or will it just scrape through... It's the same as when I bought it with 12 months MOT (Though I think this was a dodgy MOT pass cause it had an illegal tyre) and it mentions the crack in the "Notes" of the certicate... If it needs replacing what is the best/cheapest method, Thanks!!!!

its fine as long as it doesnt make a red light show white, or orange show white light etc

Get yourself down to the breaker's yard and get yourself a non-cracked light cover (£10-£20). Eventually, moisture ingress will ruin the electrical contacts, giving intermittent operation which will fail an MOT.
