Hi all, my daughters 1.2 8v 2007 punto grande clutch pedal has suddenly gone to the floor with no resistance and you then have to pull it up again by hand, again no resistance. I'm 40 miles away and planning to go look at it this weekend but does anyone know if this model was a hydraulic or a cable clutch?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Bit of googling and looking for a clutch cable on eurocarparts would seem to suggest it's not a cable there's a Master cylinder AND a slave cylinder.

So, if there's little resistance both ways would this be more likely to be a slave cylinder or the master cylinder does anyone know?

Pedal going to floor means there's air in the system.

Which means something has been leaking until the reservoir is empty and sucked in air.

So you need to find what is leaking and replace it. Either master cylinder or slave cylinder.

Should be possible to see, probably damp with fluid.

Slave failure is more common, so arguably most likely. But it could be the master. No way of knowing until you check on the car.

I don't know if Grande Puntos also have a quick connector on the pipe somewhere? Known to fail on Panda/500.

I think if I was approaching this job blind hoping to fix it over a weekend I would go armed with a new slave cylinder, bottle of DOT4 and length of pipe and a jar to bleed.

Yeah, I was thinking something similar, daughters had a look round but no obvious leaks apparantly but she's not very technically minded bless her.

Right, looks like a plan for tomorrow if the weather is reasonable!
